What is JoCo Arrests?
JoCo Arrests is an independent public information site that displays arrest records from the Johnston County Sheriff's Office. We don't create this data — we present it in a more readable format than the county's own website. All information is sourced directly from jcso.org.
Is this information accurate?
We display exactly what the Sheriff's Office publishes. We do not add, remove, or modify any information. For corrections, contact the Johnston County Sheriff's Office directly at (919) 989-5010.
Why is someone's record no longer showing?
The county only makes the last 15 days of arrests publicly available. When a record ages out of that window, it no longer appears on this site. We do not archive or store records — our data disappears when the county's data disappears.
Does an arrest mean someone is guilty?
No. An arrest is not a conviction. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges may be reduced, dismissed, or result in acquittal.
Can I request removal of my record?
Because we display only live county data and do not store records, your record will automatically disappear within 15 days. If you believe your record has been expunged and is still appearing on the county's system, contact the Johnston County Clerk of Court at (919) 209-5400. If you have a time-sensitive concern, email us and we will review it promptly.
Is this site affiliated with the Johnston County government?
No. This is an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Johnston County or the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.
Is publishing this legal?
Yes. Arrest records are public information under North Carolina law. Publishing public records is protected by the First Amendment. We follow responsible practices: no record storage beyond the county's own window, no removal fees, and a clear disclaimer that arrest ≠ guilt.
